[ The meeting's been helpful for Kohaku, unexpectedly so, because despite the magnitude of his memories and the inescapable nature of their situation, some of his frien-- some of his allies still promise to find meaning, find an escape, find a reason to keep going. Saying he feels 'better' might be too much, but a little bit of the cloud of absolute pessimism has lifted.

Especially with a meaning like this.
Anthy had offered something to make him feel better. Maybe it's time for Kohaku to actually try and repay some kindness, difficult as it is.

Mm, I usually find that to be one of the easier ways of looking at things. Though I think it impacts the feeling in your playing if you let yourself get too numb.
